Koeksusters/Nandis
Koeksusters are a traditional South African sweet which have been made to a wholly Vegan recipe. Koeksusters are a type of twisted doughnut dipped in a delicious syrup coating.
A koeksuster comes from the Dutch word koekje, the diminutive of koek — meaning cake. The original recipe is believed to be of Cape Malay origin, but today koeksusters are enjoyed all over South Africa - and now in the UK also.
Nandi Bites
Nandi bites use the same recipe as traditional Nandis, but have been rolled into bite sized pieces for easier snacking.
They are best eaten cold straight from the fridge. With a honeyed flavour, they are sticky, sweet and delicious.
